.Today I am going to start by giving you an idea about what we will be doing over the coming 12 weeks insha Allah. This is what you can call a study plan
سأبدا اليوم بإعطائكم فكرة عما سنفعله خلال الثلاث أشهر القادمة إن شاء الله. و هو ما يمكن تسميته بالخطة الدراسية.

.Since the majority will perhaps need to start with learning from a low level, I have decided that the coming 12 weeks will only address beginners
و بما أن الغالبية قد تحتاج أن نبدأ من مستوى متدني للغة، فقد قررت أن نقضي 3 أشهر مع المبتدئين.

:At the end of these 12 weeks, with 2 lessons every week, regular participants should be able to do the following
في نهاية الأشهر الثلاث، سيتمكن المشاركين المنتظمين من الآتي:

. First, Introduce themselves in proper English (name, nationality, job, residence, marital status, family, and hobbies) - Remember that this is in writing only. Any speaking practice the participant performs at home or with others should count toward improving one's speaking skills
أولاً: تقديم أنفسهم بلغة إنكليزية جيدة (الإسم، الجنسية، الوظيفة، الإقامة، الوضع العائلي، العائلة، و الهوايات). أرجو التذكر أن هذا ينطبق على المهارة الكتابية فقط و لكن إية ممارسة للتحدث قد يقوم بها المشارك في منزله أو مع آخرين يجب أن تساهم في تحسين مهارات التحدث للفرد.

. Second, Describe daily actions (habits and/or routine) using the present simple form
ثانياً: وصف الأحداث الإعتيادية التي يقوم بها الفرد مستخدما زمن الحاضر البسيط.

. Third, Survive a simple conversation in English in various )situations (at the airport, at a shop, in a taxi, & in a hospital
يجري محادثة بسيطة باللغة الإنكليزية في عدد من المواقف (المطار، السوق، سيارة الأجرة، و المشفى).

.I am afraid that Arabic may not be used in explaining what participants must do. However, simple English will be used all through the first period - 12 weeks
أخشى أن اللغة العربية لن تستخدم في شرح ما يتوجب على المشركين القيام به و لكن سأستخدم لغة بسيطة خلال فترة الثلاث أشهر الأولى.

.Since we are starting our actual lesson tomorrow, Tuesday, 26 Feb, 2008, I would like all potential participants to try to view this page after 9 p.m. I will have posted the material by then insha Allah

.Lesson 1: Introducing Yourself - Tuesday, 26 Feb 2008

Today, I am going to show you how you can introduce yourslef to others.

(الفاعل)It is important to know that the English sentence normally starts with the subject
, which is followed by a verb. So the sentence may start like this

........My name is (أسمي يكون)
........I am (أنا أكون)
........I live (أنا أعيش)
........I work as (أنا أعمل كـ)
........I like (أنا أحب)
........I have (أنا عندي - أنا أملك - لدي)

.The verb is followed by the rest of the sentence, of course

:If I know that I have the following groups of words

from Saudi Arabia (من المملكة العربية السعودية)
in Riyadh (في الرياض)
an employee (موظف)
a journalist (صحفي)
a reporter (مراسل)
Thirty years old (ثلاثون عاما من العمر)
married (متزوج)
children (أطفال)
single (أعزب)
I like swimming and watching TV (أحب للسباحة - و يستخدم الفعل يحب متبوعا بفعل تتصل به الـ ing للتكلم عن أنشطة يحبها الشخص

.then I can combine these elements to make meaningful sentences

.To introduce myself to others, I need to talk about the following things. Not necessarily all but most

Country (nationality) & Residence (الجنسية و مكان الإقامة)
Job (العمل)
Age (العمر)
Marital status (الوضع العائلي)
Family members (أفراد العائلة)
Hobbies (الهوايات)

:The result is

:Using connectors, such as and, but, so, etc., I can make this text look and sound nicer and smoother to the listener or reader

عندي عدد من دروس اللغة الإنكليزية المتميزة من عمل طلابي في كلية المعلمين، قسم اللغة الإنكليزية و قد يصل حجمها لـ 50 أو حتى 100 ميغا و أرغب بأن تكون هذه الأعمال (باور بوينت PPS) متاحة لأعضاء المنتدى. هذه الأعمال تحتوي عل مادة تعليمية متكاملة من المهارات الأربعة و المفردات و الإختبارات المدعمة بالصوت و الصورة. و هي مصممة بالإعتماد على مناهج المرحلة المتوسطة (و أحيانا الثانوية) و لكن بالإستعانة بالإنترنت من أجل المادة البصرية كالصور و الفيديو. و يمكن للطلبة و المدرسين الإستفادة منها على حد سواء كما هي الحال بالنسبة لزوار و أعضاء المنتدى.

فما العمل؟ أنا بانتظار إقتراحاتكم. أعلم أن تحمبل مثل هذا الحجم مباشرة على الموقع يجعله بطيئاً و يقلل من إستجابته للتنقل بين الصفحات أو أثناء التحميل.

Today we are going to learn how to thank others for something good or a favor they did for us
سنتعلم اليوم كيف نشكر الآخرين لخير أو معروف فعلوه لأجلنا.

First, we can classify others' good work or favor into : usual or normal on the one hand, and unusual or special on the other
أولا، يمكننا أن نصنف ما يقوم به الآخرون من عمل خير أو معروف على نوعين: عادي أو طبيعي (متوقع) من جهة، و غير عادي أو خاص من جهة أخرى.

For instance, you are carrying something heavy, so your neighbor hurries to help you - say open the door for you or take a bag or more
It is something usual to happen. We usually help each other, especially when the effort needed is little
فعلى سبيل المثال، أنت تحمل حملا ثقيلا و يراك جارك فيهرع ليفتح لك الباب أو يساعدك بحمل بعض الحقائب عنك. هذا شيء متوقع الحدوث و عادي لأننا عادة ما نساعد بعضنا البعض و خصوصا إذا كان الجهد قليلا، و بالتالي يمكن أن نقول:

If the kind of assistance you get from someone or a stranger is a bit unusual, you can make your thank-you statements longer
إذا كانت المساعدة التي تحصل عليها من أحد ما أو غريب غير عادية أو غير متوقعة، يمكنك أن تنطق بعبارات شكر أطول:

However, if someone does you a big favor and you want to show him your gratitude, you can say things like

These forms above in green are common in formal writing, but can be used in spoken English if the relationship with the person you are addressing is kind of formal
العبارات أعلاه باللون الأخضر أكثر ما تستخدم في الكتابة الرسمية (بمعنى بين شركة و شركة أو رجل غريب أو ذا منصب و رجل آخر ذو شأن) و تستخدم في اللغة المحكية عندما تكون علاقتك مع الشخص رسمية نوعا ما.

في المرة القادمة سنتعلم بمشيئة الله كيف نعبر عن موافقتنا أو عدم موافقتنا للآخرين حول نقطة ما.

الصراحه ودي اتعلم انجليزي مثلك وأمثالك ماشاء الله عليكم والحمد لله عندي كم وافر من الكلمات ومعانيها ولكن لدي بعض المشاكل في الاسبيلنق والمحادثه ولكن من ناحية الفهم الحمد لله افهم ولكن لا اعرف ارد على كل ماافهمه
ومن الاشياء اللي مرت علي بالدروس وابي استفسر عنها هي:

?Are we Abdulrahman and Ahmad
?Are we students
?Are we Saudi
?Are we 17 years old
?Are we single
هل الطريقه اللي فوق هي الصح ام الطريقه السفلى ام كلاهما وماهي الافضل ( What is the best)لأن اللي فوق مثل اللي يقولون هل نحن فلان وفلان فكيف يسئلان عن اسمائهم ؟أما اللي تحت فهناك من يسئل أحدا عنهم قائلا هل هئولاءفلان وفلان .
?Are they Abdulrahman and Ahmad
?Are they students? Are Abdulrahman and Ahmad students
?Are they Saudi
?Are they 17 years old
?Are they single

شكرا لسؤالك و للإهتمام و أعتذر عن التأخر في ردي

إذا عدت للأمثلة التي أوردتها في الدرس، ستجد أني ذكرت أمثلة لكل ضمير من الضمائر و الهدف تعريف المتعلم بيصيفة السؤال و الجواب مع كل ضمير إذ قد يكون المثال
?Are they students
و يكون الجواب بشكل طبيعي
.Yes, they are

أو
?Are you students
.Yes, we are

أو
?Are we students
.Yes, you are

و قد يكون من غير المألوف سماع تلك الصيغة التي إقتبستها عن الدرس و هي:
?Are we students
.Yes, we are

إلا أن الهدف منها هو أن يركز المتعلم على التركيبة لا على المحتوى
بكلام آخر، كي يتسنى لمتعلم اللغة الإنكليزية فرصة إكتشاف البنية الصحيحة لجملة ما و يستنبط القاعدة دون أن يشير المدرس إليها مباشرة، يقوم المدرس بعرض نماذج متطابقة الفرق الوحيد فيها هو الفرق البنيوي للجملة أو السؤال و بالتالي يكون المتعلم قادرا على ملاحظة التشكيل البنيوي و سأستخدم نفس المثال للتبيان

عند تكرار النموذج أعلاه للمتعلم فإنه سقوم بملاحظة أن
Are we
تصبح
We are
أي أن قلبا لفعل الكون و الفاعل هو الفارق بين السؤال و الجواب
و لو أننا إستخدمنا الصيغة الأصح و التي ذكرتها حضرتكم لأصبح صعبا على الطالب و خصوصا المبتديء أن يقوم بالربط و مثال ذلك

?Are we students
.Yes, you are

وفقا لذلك، لن يستطيع المتعلم أن يُنشيء رابطا بين
Are we
و
You are
لإختلاف الضمائر
فإذا كان نهج التدريس أن يكتشف المتعلم القاعدة بنفسه عن طريق المقارنة فإن المثال أعلاه لن يخدم هذا الهدف و يصبح عبئاً على كاهل المدرس أن يلفت الإنتباه كلاميا و بشكل مباشر

هذه الطريقة من تدريس البنى بشكل واضح و مباشر قد تختصر وقتا على المدرس و لكنها تدمر جيلا بأكمله فمن المفروض من المدرس أن يشجع التفكير لا الخمول في حصته و أن يبسط الأمثلة التي تقود للإستنتاج لا يعقدها

أنت على حق من حيث الإستخدام لتلك العبارة فإننا قد لا نسمعها و لكنها صحيحة و قد ترد في حالات نادرة

إحدى هذه الحالات كأن يتكلم إنسان إلى صديق إثر شجار كلامي فيكون لدينا الحوار التالي

.John: You are crazy
!?Sam: Am I crazy
.I guess I am. You know why? Because I am still right here
!John: That's your fate

First: How to agree

أتفق معك مية بالمية

أتفق معك على الآخر

.That's so true
مزبوط تماما

.That's for sure
هذا مؤكد

.You're absolutely right
أنت على حق بشكل مطلق

.Absolutely
مطلقا (بمعنى الموافقة)

.That's exactly how I feel
و هذا شعوري أيضا (بمعنى أوافقك الرأي)

.Exactly
تماما

.I'm afraid I agree with Ahmad
أخشى أني أوافق أحمد الرأي ( و أخشى هنا لا تحمل معنى سلبي و لكنها تعني أن الأمر قد تم)

.I have to side with Abdullah on this one
أقف إلى جانب عبدالله بخصوص هذه النقطة ( بمعنى أوافق عبدالله على ما يقوله)


.You have a point there
عندك حق هنا، أو عندك وجهة نظر


.No doubt about it
ما في شك بخصوصها

.I don't, either
و تستعمل في حال إتفق سخص مع آخر يعارض شيئا ما، فمثلا لو أن أحمد يعتقد أن على المجموعة قضاء الوقت في منزل أحدهم بدلا من التسكع، فيرد عليه وليد و يقول له لا أوافقك الرأي فيقول رائد من بعد وليد و لا أنا، أي و أنا أتفق معك يا وليد لا أوافق أحمد أن نبقى في المنزل.

أعتقد ذلك

I was just going to say that
كنت على وشك أن أقول ذلك


! Tell me about it
أتفق معك

!Tell me something I don't know
قل لي شيء لا أعرفه - بمعنى أوافقك الرأي


Second: How to Disagree

ليس بالضرورة

و لا بأي طريقة (يعني: و لا حتى تحلم!)

.I totally disagree
لا أوافقك بشكل كامل

.I'm afraid I disagree
أخشى أني لا أوافقك الرأي

.I'd say the exact opposite
كنت لأقول العكس تماما (بمعنى لا أتفق معك)

.That's not always true
ليس دائما صحيح (بمعنى لا أوافقك الرأي)

.That's not always the case
الوضع ليس هكذا دائما أو ليس الأمر كما تصفه (بمعنى لا أوافقك الرأي بما يخص طريقة عرضك للموضوع)

.No, I'm not so sure about that
لست متأكدا من ذلك (بمعنى أني لا أوافقك الرأي)
